Reasons to Vote Republican
This is just hilarious. Tip of the hat to Howie Luvzus for this one. Share this widely. It’s both funny and tragic–like the last 8 years. Note: The depiction of the evangelical leader opposed to abortion is an unfortunate stereotype and does nothing to advance the abortion debate. But the rest of this is funny.

The Levellers were a 17th C. movement during the English Civil War. They were a religiously-inspired political movement for democracy, human rights, justice for the poor, and peace. Their strongest leader was Richard Overton, a pacifist General Baptist influenced by Dutch Mennonites. In the spirit of Overton and the Levellers, this is a series of “Leveller Manifestos” for 21st C. U.S. life.

What’s so funny? I live with these people all around me. They’re serious.
I liked the video except for one thing: I am one of those evangelicals mocked because I oppose abortion. Still, that didn’t stop me from campaigning for Barak Obama.
I’m voting Democratic because I’m against all attempts to regulate partial birth abortion and because I agree with Barak Obama that the supreme court was WRONG to outlaw capital punishment for child rapists. I’m “consistently pro-death”. I’m a “seamless garment” Christian in reverse.
Go Obama!
Jonathan, I agree that the “evangelical leader” being mocked was not a cool part of an otherwise funny video. People oppose abortion for numerous reasons, some more persuasive than others. The same is true for those who support keeping abortion legal. As a (reluctantly) pro-choice person (because I believe all abortions are moral tragedies, but not all are morally evil choices in tragic situations), I find the “it’s my body” argument to be the weakest of pro-choice arguments.
However, I didn’t make the video. Nor did the Obama campaign.
