Faith & Social Justice: In the spirit of Richard Overton and the 17th C. Levellers

Need to slow down

Other commitments mean that I will have to slow down my posting on this blog temporarily. Some have expressed joy that they can catch up, review the archives, etc. Unfortunately, this slowing down will affect two engagements to which I am committed in these pages: 1) Promised continuation of my posts on economic justice in response to excellent questions by “Chance” of the blog, Zoo Station, one of my more perceptive and friendly conservative critics. I am not skipping out on this, Chance, it’s just going to take longer. 2) My engagement with Dr. Joe Cathey on gospel nonviolence/Christian pacifism vs. Just War Theory. Since he has already begun posting, I cannot put everything here on hold, but the positive case I want to build will take longer. By the end of this weekend, I do hope to post something on this. 3) Be patient with waiting for my replies to comments–in addition to writing deadlines, I will be in Lexington, KY on Saturday, staffing a table for the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated alternative to the now-fundamentalist Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. I will be back in Louisville by Saturday evening, but I also want to spend time with the 3 women in my life, Rev. Kate Westmoreland-White (love of my life, inestimable treasure), Molly White (11), and Miriam White (7). You folks will just have to wait your turn. ūüôā

  1. No problem. I’ve had to slow down as well due to other stuff going on.
